Development Update 1.2: 2/19/24

Howdy folks! Listed below are the development changes for Mr. Squirrel as of 2/19/24. This update was a long time coming, and I'm looking forward to taking this project to the next level.

MAJOR UPDATES:

-Scrapped Mechanical-Wing Branch: Previously, players had the option to choose a branch that would take them into the archives to find a set of blueprints. The archives still exist, but are being re-used in the context of a different branch. In 1.2, players will no longer be presented with the option to pursue blueprints.

-New Branch Added: Helping Irene: As seen above, the Mech-Wing path has been replaced with a new storyline! In 1.2, players are able to assist Feline Literature Coordinator "Irene" in her quest to retrieve a significant book, with the option of taking another book that unlocks an additional storyline. Helping Irene find her book unlocks new dialogue options, and furthers the relationship between the two of you ;). This option is available when player opts to accept Dr. Paul N.'s offfer, and leaves the faculty lounge with Irene.

-New Branch Added: Blank Book: Players can unlock additional dialogue and a new storyline while helping Irene find her book in the Archives. Opting to take a certain book in the archives will trigger new dialogue and introduce a mysterious book into the story. This option is available after entering the Archives with Irene.

-New Character: Mr. Speedy: Meet the bus driver, Mr. Speedy! Players can now interact with the wise, humorous tortoise driving Mr. Squirrel to work. Mr. Speedy appears as the player selects the option to get on the bus, and may appear again after the day is over on the way home.

MINOR FIXES and PATCHES:

-Small grammatical revisions throughout all branches

-Inventory descriptions have been implemented. Players in 1.2 can visit their inventory after collecting an item to read its description.

-After leaving the archives, Players now have the option to revisit Squirrel's office to collect his papers

-Bug Fixed: Twine Macros previously forbidding players to select options based on inventory.

-Continuity errors in conversations between Squirrel and Gale have been changed.
